OBR is a private, Smith Family owned and operated, grass-fed cattle ranch that is dedicated to ranching sustainability, its animals and wildlife conservation.
Located approximately 25 miles west of Aspen, Colorado, Out of Bounds Ranch has combined nearly 4,000 deeded and leased acres of irrigated pastures, beautiful landscapes, and a pristine aspen forest.
On a clear day, one can see the beautiful Independence Pass, Aspen-Snowmass ski areas, Pyramid Peak, Maroon Bells and of course, Mt. Sopris.

The Ranch
At Out of Bounds Ranch, we run 400-600 head of cattle April though October. Providing for the well-being and safety of our herd is our top priority. Our cattle husbandry and veterinary care is overseen and managed by two ranching veterans, Max Macdonnell and RaeLynn Renaldo.

The Family
Tiffany and B Scott Smith married in 1999 and began visiting Aspen in 2001. Since then, the Smiths, along with their three children, Baxley, Wyatt and Ivy, have been coming to the area every year.
In 2019, Scott and Tiffany purchased a home in West End, Aspen and then purchased “Jeff Gordon’s Coulter Creek Ranch” in January of 2021. They are in the process of designing and building their primary home at the ranch.
